Job Description

An experienced Mechanical Supervisors with a background in nuclear outages on a contract basis, to be located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

  • Provide technical expertise in investigating and resolving equipment issues to support safe operations and maintain equipment integrity.
  •  Lead assessment of component performance using predictive maintenance technologies for improved reliability.
  • Manage maintenance windows for shutdown management.
  •  Optimize preventive maintenance programs based on as-found conditions to improve resource use and reliability.
  •  Evaluate components against regulatory requirements and industry best practices for enhanced reliability.
  •  Prioritize and manage maintenance work backlog for optimal resource use, reporting results to component engineering management.
  •  Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job briefs, and safety communications.
  •  Ensure adherence to quality standards, coordinating with quality engineers to resolve procedural issues and uphold workmanship standards.
  •  Oversee maintenance activities performed by contractors to ensure procedural compliance.
  •  Lead complex troubleshooting, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, and ODMIs.
  •  Develop and implement temporary modifications for short-term needs, enabling the Design Department to focus on scheduled work.
  •  Support World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) reviews.
  •  Provide support during shutdowns or emergency response situations, which may involve shift work.
  •  Offer feedback on training programs and evaluate operator performance to improve training and qualifications.
  •  Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security policies, taking reasonable care of personal and others\’ health, safety, and environmental impact.
  •  Support Crisis Management and Business Continuity adherence to continue critical activities.
  •  Contribute to developing UAE National employees in line with corporate Emiratization strategy.
  •  Share knowledge to build internal capabilities and improve UAE Nationals’ effective performance.

    Requirements:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  •  5 years’ experience in a Nuclear Power Plant outage environment, primarily in equipment maintenance.
  •  Extensive experience in mechanical valve activities, including MOV and AOV inspections and maintenance.
  •  Knowledge of nuclear safety procedures and international standards.
  •  Expertise in valve operations, heavy lifting, and mechanical valve maintenance.
  •  Proficient in MS Project/Primavera.
  • Strong decision-making, leadership, and team coordination skills.
  •  Effective planning, organizing, and prioritizing abilities.
  •  Proficient in decision-making, problem-solving, and communication.
  •  Strong man-management and interpersonal skills.

  •  Working Hours: 8 hours per day, 6 days a week
  • Pre-Outage: 40-48 hours per week, based on client requirements
  •  Over Outage Period: 72 hours per week
  •  Overtime: Applicable after 48 hours
  •  Contract: Single status
  • Amenities Provided: Food, accommodation, and transport at the project site (client provided)
  •  Basic Salary: 60%
  •  Site Allowance: 30%
  •  Shift Allowance: 10%
  •  Overtime rate applied to basic salary
  •  Duration: 3 months per outage, with potential for extension
  • Availability
  •  Candidates should be available to join by January 25 for the next planned outage.
