Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Materials Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Materials Engineer working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience working for recognised Main Contracting Companies

• Review the material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to the applicable standards and project specifications.
•  Serves as the focal point for the scheduling and control of construction materials and equipment at the job site
•  Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
•  Coordinates work of sub-contractors for material testing
• Maintains office files related to the project, material inspections and writes daily diaries.
•  Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract
•  Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work
• Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems on construction materials, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution
•  Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.
•  May provide technical guidance to lower-level
•  Participates in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports
•  Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
• Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts
• Observe, check and record works execution is in accordance with approved methods
•  Check material delivered are as approved and properly stored.
  

  Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil, Structural or related
• Minimum of 8-10 years experience and experience in recognised Main Contractor companies on new build projects
• Experience in the construction of Malls, High rise and Hotel projects will be highly advantageous
•  Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment
•  Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs.
