Job Description

• Developing and maintaining effective company tax strategy, including formulating overall tax philosophy and approach to tax compliance, tax planning, and tax risk management
• Ensuring the fulfilment of tax law provisions relevant to Qatar and all the countries to which the company extends its operations: analysing and verifying, in collaboration with the tax departments of business units, the tax treatment of significant budget items
• Staying abreast of the evolving global tax environment and ensuring compliance
• Ensuring effective tax planning and providing strategic tax analysis of significant anticipated deals, investment projects, business reorganisations, and other material transactions
• Developing and maintaining proper tax risk management standards, policies and procedures with the purpose of tax risk minimisation and in line with the company’s overall risk appetite
• Establishing and maintaining proper group tax accounting and reporting policies and procedures. Developing, managing, and updating the tax-related KPI system

Requirements:

• University degree in Law, Finance, and/or Business Administration or equivalent, ideally with a master’s in international Tax and/or Business Administration from a recognised management school
• At least 8 years’ experience in international tax, with 4 years in a similar position/responsibility
• Demonstrable history of working for international companies or multicultural environments
• Previous experience within the power, water, or renewable energy sectors
• International tax experience developed within the Big 4
• Strong understanding of Qatari tax law and other Gulf countries
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and relationships both within the company and with all relevant external stakeholders.
