Job Description
The job holder of this position is responsible for defining and driving the “offer” and purchasing strategy for different products categories and brands. The job holder is also responsible for defining the action plan for the categories, merchandising, promotional activities, prices and negotiations.
- Validate the strategy with the GM/Captain
- Â Negotiate annual commercial agreements and the commercialization of advertising spaces with the brands
- Â Drive the development of the margin and the budgetary objectives Formulate and communicate the Department performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and alignment towards strategic objectives
- Â Monitor the yearly budget of the Department and control expenditure to ensure optimal use
- Â Define the offer strategy for the stores in the designated area in alignment with the brand’s values
- Â Develop the business plan of the Department in line with the strategic objectives of the Brand Develop the Department policies and procedures in order to ensure the fulfilment of organizational requirements
- Â Oversee the operations of the Department, provide expertise, encourage teamwork and facilitate related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in contribution
- Â Benchmark current performance vs. the competition and the peer market Create different tools to improve the categories’ performance
- Â Manage segmentation, seasonal activities, action plans for the stores; follow up on the results
- Â Manage the existing catalogue, optimizing on the mix at the points of sale
- Â Identify the products with potential and research new products
- Â Develop a wide range of services (skincare – make up – lessons – etc.) to be adapted to each category
- Â Prepare the periodic category reviews
- Â Create partnerships with the brands and follow up on the results
- Handle the negotiations with existing and potential partners
- Â Optimize the merchandising plan and the allocation of space vs. the volume of margin
- Â Develop new merchandising aids, tools, and new concepts
- Â Coordinate new openings (Brands/Merchandising/Promotions) or refitting of sales areas
- Â Register newly imported brands to the market, in compliance with the regulations of each country.
