Job Description

The Senior Operations Engineer (SGW) is responsible for the management of outsourced operational activities in the assigned catchment zone related to Surface Ground Water networks including connected Pumping Stations and associated assets in a timely manner.

  •  Understand the Surface Ground Water network and associated assets.
  •  Coordinate with outsourced agencies for managing operations of Surface Ground Water Networks in coordination with the Management Consultants (MC)/ contractors.
  •  Monitor outsourced agencies work schedules, set priorities and ensure the appropriate assignment of equipment, materials, and personnel.
  •  Oversee the Primary Framework Contractor’s operational activities related to the provision of customer / stakeholder valued services provided via Surface Ground Water Networks assets in the assigned catchment zone to ensure the delivery of services within the agreed KPI / SLA framework.
  •  Work proactively with the team members to carry out necessary inspection and supervision activities to ensure the lead Framework Contractor’s compliance with all contractual obligations.
  •  Provide technical expertise to Head of Section on programme of works carried out by framework contractors, to sustain and improve levels of service to customers and other stake holders.
  •  Provide input for the budget allocation of the assigned catchment zone with support from Asset Planners and Contract Management Teams.
  •  Ensure timely response to public complaints and requests/ calls received from Customer Contact Centre / Drainage Networks Management Centre
  •  Ensure Team / Framework Contractor’s compliance with all processes and procedures relating to Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and other DNO&M systems and processes. Identify and discontinue redundant / duplicate activities.
  • Carry out risk assessment of assets with team and identify need and modification required to manage assets
  • Support the section and department in emergency management such as rainy season activities including attendance at Emergency Control Centre (ECC) and/or site
  •  Implement improvement plans for reduction in complaints of flooding as advised by line manager.
  •  Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures within the team and comply with applicable Ashghal work policies / instructions.
  •  Manage the performance of maintenance contractors to ensure adherence to defined SLAs
  •  Raise any issues that require consideration to the Surface Ground Water Network Engineering Advisor / Expert for advice on actions/ recommendations.
    Requirements:
  •  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Relevant Subject
  •  Up to 11 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Master’s degree)
  •  Up to 12 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Bachelor’s degree)
