Job Description
- Â Overall supervision of civil/structural engineers and civil/structural designers.
- Â Ensure technical competence of civil/structural personnel (Engineers and Designers).
- Â Forecast requirements for civil/structural resources and allocate those resources to various projects and work assignments.
- Â Ensure compliance with relevant standards, SOW, technical specifications etc., and ensure technical integrity of all work scope within civil/structural department.
- Â Identify and maintain civil/structural software and standards necessary to enable the structural groups to function effectively.
- Â Interdisciplinary communication development.
- Â Civil/structural group communication development.
- Â Check, monitor and ensure compliance with QA/safety/environment goals.
- Â Manage civil/structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
- Â Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
- Â Promote cost reduction and productivity-enhancing initiatives.
- Â Promote career development within the civil/structural group.
- Â Identify and review new technology development, which could be applicable in providing more cost-effective facilities.
- Â Technical supervision of project designated civil/structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties.
- Â Prepare weekly civil/structural progress and expenditure reports on a project-specific basis.
- Â Benchmark civil/structural design/drafting to identify areas of improvement.
- Â Quality Assurance – work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
- Â Safety – responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures
- Â Preparation of manpower estimates for various projects and support of proposal development.
- Â Input into schedule development for various projects.
- Â Originating of documents such as calculations, specifications, scopes of work etc. to facilitate project delivery
Requirements:
- Â Thorough knowledge of the applicable engineering design and construction civil/structural codes, standards and best practices for both onshore and offshore.
- Â Familiar with international standards such as AISC, API, ASTM, BS, etc.
- Â Sound grasp in both onshore and offshore civil and structural analyses
- Â Knowledge of civil/structural detailing and capability to develop construction friendly and economic connection and support details.
- Â Experience in life extension assessment projects will be an advantage.
- Â Extensive work experience as a Principal engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Â Proven experience of leading a team of civil/structural discipline engineers and designers.
- Â Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the civil/structural discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
- Â User of SACS and MS Office Suite of Software, STAAD Pro and MathCAd.
- Â Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Â Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
- Â Able to work in diverse team.

- Â Communicates clearly, accurately, and consistently both verbally and in written matters.
